Auto-pause, splits and honest calories
What's new
- Auto-pause: the timer stops by itself when you stand still — a traffic light, a crossing, catching your breath — and picks back up when you move. Time and average pace count only the moving part, so a city ride is finally comparable to an open-road one. Switch it off in settings.
- Splits: the phone and the watch buzz on every kilometre — or every 5 km on a bike or skates, so the marker doesn't turn into nagging. The watch and the lock screen show that split's time and heart rate, and the full list is a tab on the tracker and a section in the workout detail.
- Average pace now sits next to the current one — and the current one no longer jumps around: it's measured over a 25-second window instead of the instantaneous GPS speed.
- Heart-rate zones: how much time and what share of the workout went into each zone, with the live zone highlighted. Your heart rate from the watch is visible right on the map while training.
- A power estimate in watts for running, walking, cycling and skating. Derived from speed, gradient and mass, so it works without a watch too.
- Weak GPS no longer eats your distance: what you covered in the dead zones is recovered from the pedometer, and the workout detail shows how many metres came from there.
- A workout detail screen in history: splits, zones, route, and a "Copy for AI" button — a ready text breakdown you can paste into ChatGPT and ask what to change next time.
- Apple Health export: the route finally draws on the map, and calories are written as active energy, separately from resting energy.
- Calories reworked — they now come from work done, climbing included, and on a bike from power rather than kilometres. The numbers are lower, especially on an easy ride. How we count calories — the full breakdown with numbers.
- Watch: metrics as large full-width rows, a zones page that doesn't need scrolling, and a new elevation page.
